My Other Passion

One thing that I'll share about myself today is that I'm a bit of a closet Action Figure fanatic. That is not to say that I sit at home and play with action figures. Far from it, but action figures, in my opinion is one of the greatest toy creations of all time. As a kid, it stretched my imagination and provided hours and hours of fun and enjoyment. I've never for forgotten that. But now that I'm a 'mature' father of three, I have resorted to collecting action figures. My collection consists mostly of 4" figures primarily from the Star Wars saga, but I have, over the last two years, picked my way through the super hero/super villain figures of the Marvel Universe (I'm a big fan of comics as well, but that's a story for another time).

Anyway, from time to time, I'll share my adventures through the funny and oddly amusing world of action figure collecting as well. As I mentioned, I have dabbled in the Marvel Universe and I do, on occasion grab a Marvel figure here and there. Which brings to my find this morning. I stopped at my local Target for a couple of birthday cards and I grabbed this very cool piece. A figure from the Marvel Universe line, Cable is a mutant and son of Scott Summers (a.k.a. Cyclops of the X-Men). I found this one at my local Target while picking up some birthday cards. I can never resist a flyby through the toy aisle with the kids. Although, I have to confess I was alone in the store this morning.

Pathfinder Heroes

Nothing much to report today. I did order a set of the Pathfinder RPG pre-painted heroes. Considering previous incarnations of pre-painted plastic miniatures, I'm not going to get my hopes up, but you never know. I'm hoping to get the minis before the end of next week. I suppose this set will help me determine whether or not to drop cash on the Monsters & Heroes set due out next month.

First Character, New Module

I received my newest addition to my growing collection of Pathfinder material today. I ordered the Crypt of the Everflame today. I hear it's a great first level adventure, so I thought I'd give it a read.

I started rolling up my own character, using the instructions, dice and character sheet from the Beginner Box. I decided on an Elf Fighter. So far, I came up with the following dice rolls:
15, 13, 16, 13, 13, 11, 13.

Str - 15
Dex - 16
Con - 13
Int - 13
Wis - 11
Cha - 13

As an elf, I get to add +2 to my Dexterity and Intelligence, but a -2 to my Strength, during character creation. I'm also going to purchase my own equipment rather than use the quick start package. Next, I'll equip him and try and find a miniature that works.
